Suddenly clear-sighted

This work is an 1979 model Volvo 244DL from which I have removed all external lights, lengthened their cables, and then gathered the lights to one big lamp which highlights the car from the outside when the engine is running. The 1979 model Volvo is a reoccurring material for my sculptures, referring to a deal proposed between Norwegian State Oil Company and Swedish car company Volvo the same year.

The deal, which would have turned 40% of Volvo on Norwegian hands for the cost of 2% of one specific oil block in the North Sea, was finally terminated by the Volvo stockholders for unknown
reasons.

There has never been produced any cars in Norway, and this proposal is propably the closest Norway ever has been in having a car industry.
